The aggressiveness of prostate cancer can be stratified according to risk groups:

1) Low risk prostate cancer:

Clinically in-apparent tumor (detected by PSA blood test only) or tumor that involves one half of one lobe of the prostate or less.

and

PSA blood levels < 10 ng/ml

and

Gleason score = 2-6 not more

2) Intermediate Risk prostate cancer:

Tumor involves more than one half of one lobe of prostate, but without extracapsular extension or seminal vesicle involvement.

or

PSA blood levels 10 - 20 ng/ml

or

Gleason Score 7

3) High risk prostate cancer:

Tumor in prostate with extracapsular extension or seminal vesicle involvement

or

PSA > 20ng/ml

or

Gleason score 8-10
